The History of The Dream Connection
More than 35 years ago, a simple act of compassion planted the seed for what would become The Dream Connection. Founder B.J. Price met a child at East Tennessee Children's Hospital (ETCH) whose only wish was to see his grandmother in California before he passed away....

What We Do
Dream Connection is a nonprofit that connects kids and their families with the funding they need to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience – and forget about hospitals, medicines and treatments for a short time.
The Dream Connection works like this:

About The Dream Connection
Dream Connection is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers that is focused on raising money to help fulfill the dreams of children diagnosed with life-threatening or chronically debilitating illnesses.
Established under Tennessee law in October 1985, The Dream Connection remains the only organization of its kind serving 16 counties of East Tennessee.
Memorable fulfilled dreams include trips to Dollywood, Disney World and LEGOLAND, as well as meetings with Tennessee native Kenny Chesney.

Over 40 years of serving East Tennessee, The Dream Connection has had the privilege of making countless fun, meaningful and memorable dreams come true. Today, we're excited to highlight one very special dream from our history.
Around the year 1999, Sam Warren of Athens, Tennessee, was diagnosed with leukemia as a young child. His dream was a trip to Disney—and, as a vacuum enthusiast, he had one other special request: a tour of a vacuum factory.
Thanks to Waterway Rainbow in Knoxville, Sam got the chance to tour the facility and even left with a vacuum to add to his collection (for free!).
This year, we had the honor of welcoming Sam and his mom to our 40th Anniversary Gala. Seeing Sam doing well and getting the chance to reconnect with a dream recipient from our history was a truly special moment. Stories like Sam's remind us that a dream can create memories that last far beyond the day it comes true—and that the impact of a dream can last a lifetime.
We're grateful to have been part of Sam's story and thankful to everyone who has helped make dreams like his possible over the past 40 years. 💙
